Yoga with Anina: it's getting serious!
Humour aside, there has been a surge of interest in yoga classes, and I've been delighted to receive numerous requests. I am fortunate to be able to extend an invitation for classes at my lovely home, a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle in Sir Lowry's Pass, Helderberg Rural.
Current class times: Mondays and Wednesdays one hour before sunset. For now, 19:00 - 20:00.

Why is yoga considered good physical exercise?
Yoga is an excellent form of physical exercise because it combines strength, flexibility, and balance. The various poses (asanas) engage multiple muscle groups, enhancing overall strength and toning. Additionally, the controlled movements and focus on breath improve flexibility and balance. Regular practice not only contributes to physical fitness but also supports joint health and posture, making it a well-rounded and beneficial exercise for the body.
Mantras I use in my yoga classes
Ong namo guru dev namo (Sanskrit: ॐ नमो गुरु देव् नमो) is an important mantra used often in Kundalini yoga. This mantra means “I bow, or salutations to the divine teacher.” It can also be viewed as meaning, " bow to the teacher within." It is also sometimes called the Adi mantra.
This mantra is usually chanted three times at the beginning of a Kundalini yoga practice or class. Ong namo guru dev namo is considered a high vibration, protective mantra as it is believed to help the yogi to connect with the power and insights of the community of Kundalini yoga students and teachers as a whole. This connection with wider power is referred to by the Kundalini community as the "golden chain."
This mantra is in Sukhmani Sahib, which was written by Guru Arjan Dev Ji. It is a mantra of protection and is recited to invoke the protective energy of the universe. Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan taught that this mantra should always be chanted 3 times in a row. This mantra is also chanted directly following the Adi Mantra, when tuning in to a Kundalini Yoga class.
